Our Teachers

Our teachers play an important role in communicating, modelling, and overseeing our program’s core values. We are proud of the teachers that work with your children. Let us introduce the stars of Children’s Day Out…

I grew up in Sherwood Park, in a Swiss-German speaking house-hold. I attended French immersion school and completed my Bachelor of Education in Edmonton at the Faculté Saint-Jean. After obtaining my degree, I taught elementary school in England and Switzerland for a few years before returning home to Edmonton. Upon my return, I continued to teach elementary, this time in the French immersion setting. Before joining Children’s Day Out in September 2012, I worked at an accredited daycare in the west end and at a French immersion preschool. I am passionate about teaching, particularly preschool children, because they are amazing learners!

When I’m not at school, I enjoy hanging out with my husband and our cat, crafting, and working with animals. I enjoy horseback riding, but I like the groundwork even more. In the summer months, I love to go camping with my family. My husband and I recently started doing back-packing trips in the mountains and are slowly amassing the necessary gear to continue our mountain adventures. I look forward to an exciting school year full of classroom adventures with Children’s Day Out!

I am from London, England but Canada has been my home for many years now. I am married to Bill and have three lovely girls; Jessica 19, Sara 17, and Natasha 13. Also in our family are two horses, a dog and a hedgehog, so life is very busy!

I went to College in England where I took my Early Childhood Education and then started my life in Canada as a Nanny followed by working in a Day Care, Elementary School and a Preschool. I have also volunteered at The Royal Alexandra Hospital in the Pediatric Unit.

My hobbies, other than running the household and being a Chauffeur!… are a love for the outdoors: gardening, camping, traveling and exploring other Cultures. I like to bake, read, listen to music and maybe one day I’ll add horseback riding to my list (working on that!).

I have been working at CDO for two and a half years now as one of the full time Teachers. Every day is still interesting and fun!

Hello! I was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario by my Mom, a high school English teacher and my Dad, a real estate broker. My younger sister and I grew up very close, always assuring people that we very rarely fought and were the best of friends which we still are to this day. I attended Sheridan College in Ontario and graduated with a diploma in Early Childhood Education. Shortly after graduating I moved to a smaller city called Guelph where I began my career in childcare. I have worked in multiple backgrounds involving children including daycare, nannying, and a manager at an indoor playground. I also created and implemented fitness programming, developed camp curriculum and organized many special events while employed at the indoor playground.

I moved to Alberta two years ago and eventually joined the team at CDO! In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, reading, playing board games with friends and family, and photography. I also like to cook and am always trying new things out in the kitchen. I am very excited to be joining the Children’s Day Out team. I look forward to getting to know everyone and can’t wait to get back into a career as enjoyable and fulfilling as childcare. Thank you to everybody for the warm and happy welcoming.
