Our teachers play an important role in communicating, modelling, and overseeing our program’s core values. We are proud of the teachers that work with your children. Let us introduce the stars of Children’s Day Out…

Anne Marie

My name is Anne Marie and I have been working part time for Children’s Day Out for about a year now. I was a full-time nanny for a little boy while attending Grant MacEwan’s Human Resources program. After working in the HR field for a short time, I found myself again wanting to work with children. I am so happy to have found a place at CDO. My time here is divided between assisting with the children and tackling the administrative work. I so enjoy getting to know the children and their families. I do have children of my own and in my personal time I can be found at various lacrosse rinks, watching my daughter horseback ride and volunteering at their school. I enjoy gardening, knitting, reading, cooking and going to concerts or any form of live theatre. One of my favorite pastimes is exploring used bookstores and new restaurants around Edmonton with my husband.

I was born and raised right here in Edmonton, Alberta. I knew from a young age (preschool) that I wanted to be a teacher. I attended the University of Alberta and graduated with an Education Degree, specializing in Early Childhood. I struggled with finding employment within my first few years, but ended up putting my degree to use Teaching Computer Courses to Adults at CDI College until my first child was born. After that I became a permanent Stay-At-Home Mother, and more recently joined CDO as a Substitute Teacher. I am excited to have the opportunity to be here Full-Time this year as a Teacher!

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my Husband, Craig, and our 2 children, Hannah (13) and Cody (11), and a house full of Pets (2 Dogs, 1 cat, 1 Bunny, 2 Lovebirds, 1 Conure (bird) and plenty Salt & fresh water fish). I enjoying spending summer weekends camping at our lake, and evenings knitting, crocheting or sewing. My hobbies and family keep me busy!

I was born in Ukraine, and moved to Canada 14 years ago with my daughter.

In Ukraine, I finished Pedagogical University, and worked as an Art Teacher for 16 years. Art is still a big part of my life. In my free time I like to paint, and visit local galleries and festivals.

Since I moved to Canada, I started working in a Day Care and enrolled in Early Childhood Education program. I worked in many different Day Cares and programs for Children with Special Needs. I successfully completed my Early Childhood Education program.

I have been teaching at Children’s Day Out for two years. I am so happy to be working in this unique program.

Hello. I am Zuzana. I dedicated my life to caring for children. I studied Ecology in high school and I realized I wanted to be a teacher so I started to teach 4th graders traffic education. Both of my parents teach driving in the Czech Republic. It felt like a natural thing to do. Between high school and university I took a job in Italy where I was an entertainer of kids in a recreational facility for a few months. After finishing my bachelor and master degree in education my heart wanted to travel a bit more. I came to Canada as a nanny and I took care of two wonderful children .In Edmonton, I also volunteered at a playschool and a blood donor clinic caring for children while their parents donated blood. Life brought me an opportunity to teach at CDO. I am thrilled (still, even after a year)! There are ideas constantly popping up in my mind about how to entertain and teach kids. It might be because I am a creative person with lots of hobbies (crocheting, cross-stitching, reading, learning new languages, baking, traveling, doing martial arts and many more), or maybe it is because I really like coffee.
