Our teachers play an important role in communicating, modelling, and overseeing our program’s core values. We are proud of the teachers that work with your children. Let us introduce the stars of Children’s Day Out…

Krista

Hello, my name is Krista. I started my CDO career as a lead teacher back in the fall of 2013.

After an extended maternity leave from 2017 to 2021, I rejoined the CDO team as the director.
Building lasting relationships with both our students and their families is one of my favorite
aspects to my job. Most of my days are spent in the office working with our board of directors,
licensing, managing the administrative operations and organizing all of the volunteer
commitments with families. I love my time to sneak into the classrooms and engage in the
learning and strengthen those connections with our students.

I was born and raised in Ontario and graduated from Sheridan College from their Early
Childhood Education program in 2007. In 2012 I made the move out to Alberta and only regret it
on those -48 days. My years of experience in childcare include; daycare, a nanny, a children's
fitness program facilitator, a children’s events coordinator and a preschool teacher. In my most
recent years in childcare I have enjoyed extended learning in all things relationship based. I
have taken a special interest in neurological development in children and how our interactions
with small children shape personalities and relationships well into adulthood. This learning
allows me to prioritize that CDO is a safe and nurturing environment for our students.

In the summer months I work part time in the golf industry. Golf is my second professional
passion after Early Childhood Education. Some of my other interests are thrift shopping, DIY
projects, exploring Edmonton’s best coffee shops and hiking. When I’m not at CDO I am a
single mom to my two amazing daughters. My girls were and still are my number one motivator
on my journey to foster whole and safe relationships.

Liliana

I was born in Ukraine, and moved to Canada 16 years ago with my daughter.

In Ukraine, I finished Pedagogical University, and worked as an Art Teacher for 16 years. Art is still a big part of my life. In my free time I like to paint, and visit local galleries and festivals.

Since I moved to Canada, I started working in a Day Care and enrolled in Early Childhood Education program. I worked in many different Day Cares and programs for Children with Special Needs. I successfully completed my Early Childhood Education program.

I have been teaching at Children’s Day Out for five years. I am so happy to be working in this unique program.

Meghan

My name is Meghan and I am in my 13 th year of working with children. I am a big believer in
relationship building and am often found on the floor playing with some friends or reading with a
child on my lap. My favorite thing about CDO is the big outdoor space and getting to know the
families that come in everyday. I love seeing your children every morning!

I graduated from Grant MacEwan University in 2010 with a diploma in Early Childhood
Development. After working for a few years, I decided to work from home as a respite care
worker for a person with special needs as well as open a dayhome. This allowed me to be at
home with my 4 children; three girls and one boy who are the light of my life. I have done
professional development and am very passionate about empathy, kindness, and treating
children as whole people-respecting and validating their feelings and experiences. I am a big
believer that children learn best through play, so my programming is mainly child led and play
based.

In my spare time you can find me playing with or snuggling with my children or husband,
watching movies, or cross stitching. I love being outdoors; swimming, quadding, scuba diving, or
going on nature walks. I also love to go on outings as a family and discover the delights of
Edmonton on the weekends and my favorite place to travel is Disneyland!
